This Neverly Brothers show will take you on a guided musical VIRTUAL TOUR of the birth through the resurrection (1955-1965) of rock ‘n roll. Combining a bit of history, chronological song sequences, stories of the behind-the-music and of course, the wardrobe. You will experience an energetic stage show you will not soon forget (think Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Rolling Stones and of course, Elvis and the Beatles). There are two parts of pure enjoyment: music created by the 50’s American rock ‘n rolls pioneers, and then you will travel through the British invasion. You will hear such greats as Great Balls of Fire, Johnny B. Goode, That’ll be the day, Twist & Shout, Satisfaction, I Wanna Hold Your Hand and so many more. The pair went on to become one of the most successful songwriters, musicians, and singers in popular music history. Carole King’s credits include songs such as “You’ve Got a Friend”, “It’s Too Late”, “I Feel the Earth Move”, and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”. NOTE: this is a walking event, so please plan accordingly. All the buildings are ADA compliant. There are many benches through the grounds if a break is needed along the way.

NOTE: you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, sit outside and enjoy the beautiful grounds. The park also has a “snack bar”, featuring light snacks.

Located in Wheaton, Cantigny Park is the 500-acre former estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick. (Cantigny is named after a small village in France, where Colonel McCormick commanded an artillery battalion in 1918 as a member of the U.S. Army’s First Division.) You will be able to get up close and personally view the on-site collection of tanks from WWI to Desert Storm. You will be absorbed as you tour The First Division Museum, dedicated to the history of the “Big Red One,” the famed 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Take a military history journey in the “Duty First” gallery, which is thematic and explores the 1st Infantry Division’s history from the 1970 to today. Walk the trenches of WW1 through a simulation of a bunker. You can take in the awe of the Gardens of Cantigny Park offering beauty and tranquility. Tour the gardens at your own pace, enjoy the creativity, and a few surprises, too! The gardens feature more seating options, including a circular bench around a large and centrally located Bur Oak tree. Payment is due when you drop off your registration form.
