“Dear Evan Hansen: today is going to be a good day and here’s why …”. Dear Evan Hansen is a musical about a
high school senior, who is shy, a loner, bullied, suffering from social anxiety, and is encouraged by his therapist to write letters to himself. Accidentally, one of Evan’s letters is found on a classmate, Connor Murphy, who has taken his own life. Connor’s family
found Evan’s letter, leading to (mistakenly) believing that Evan was Connor’s best friend. Evan continues what starts as a little
white lie, which grows out of control, as does his involvement with Connor’s family, classmates, and eventually founding
“The Connor Project”. As suspicions start to build as to Evan’s relation with Conner, it eventually leads to the day Evan admits to
this fabrication. As what’s next, you’ll have to see.

Taking a twist on the story of one of our founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton, this performance is sung and rapped through a biographical musical. Hamilton, since it opened off-Broadway in February 2015, is coming full circle, back to the CIBC Theatre
where it began its preview in September 2016. Hamilton has received universal acclaim with a record breaking 16 nominations, winning 11 awards, including best musical. Reviewers are saying Hamilton is celebrated for its innovative musical style,
