Sweet summertime returns with Long Grove’s annual tradition: the Strawberry Festival. Let’s take a day trip to experience everything strawberry centric (food, drinks, jams, smoothies) along with other fan food favorites: hot dogs, BBQ, pizza, chicken, burgers, ice crème and more! Along with this delicious food, there will be vendors selling items from jewelry, candy, clothes,
you can get massages & more, MORE vendors and fun to be had! Would you like a tour of the famous “Sock Monkey Museum”,

and the growth of our region. Take a
canal boat tour on The Volunteer. This vessel is a replica of the 1840’s era and runs on the same energy source, mule power! Step back to 1848, boating down the historic Illinois & Michigan canal for an hour-long narrated tour. Sit back, relax, get a glimpse of time gone by. See how people, mail and supplies made it to their destinations. After your
boat tour you will enjoy a hardy captain’s wonderful lunch in the visitors’ center.

Dear Jack, Dear Louise, based on a true story from playwright Ken Ludwig (Ken has had six productions on Broadway and

eight in London’s West End) tells the story of U.S. Army Captain Jack Ludwig, a military doctor stationed in Oregon who
begins writing to Louise Rabiner, an aspiring actress and dancer in New York City, hoping to meet her someday (if the war will allow). But as the war continues it threatens to end their relationship before it even starts. This performance tells the joyous heartwarming story of Ken Ludwig’s parents' courtship during World War II and the results are anything but expected. The reviews are in: Broadway World review states, “Dear Jack, Dear Louise is a moving, funny and heartbreaking reminder of what we should strive to become individually and as a country"; Washington Post’s review states “"Strikes the touchstones of the online dating age with uncanny precision”.
